Minor Championship Final Back On

08 Nov 2012

The DRA met in the Carrickdale this evening to settle the Debacle that has developed over the Minor Championship Final for once and for all. This followed on from their meeting last Tuesday week where they quashed the decision of the Louth Hearings Committee to award a replay of the semi final with the Clans. However, the Clans were then successful in their appeal against the Minor Board awarding of the game, due to a technical fault on the part of the minor board. When they met this evening and heard the final Clans appeal they decided that natural justice would be served by standing by the referees report and thus putting the Joes/O Connells/Stabannon team into the Final.

The Minor Board wasted no time in fixing the final against the Oliver Plunketts, which now takes place in the Gaelic Grounds in Drogheda @ 2pm on Sunday 25th November.

This will not be the last time that we will clash with the Clans, but thankfully the next time will be on the field of play. For if the minors are successful in the Championship final they will have the chance to complete the double, as it is the Clans who they will face in the League Final. This match has not yet been fixed.
